rainy day, sick day, pseudo-writing day

So, I stayed home from work, slept away most of the day. Now I've taken Cassie's chapters from the original NaNo document and pasted them into her own document. I started at ch. 4 and took out all of the stuff that belongs to the original concept of the 2006 novel, which this no longer is.

Having cut 'n' paste a bunch of stuff into a new document makes me feel like I've worked on it...

Now if only I felt well enough to do something more productive than this. Stupid cold.

It's only October...

and I'm back, sporting the new NanoRebel badge for 2009, just in case I do.

My 2006 book is now in three separate binders, one for each MC. Working on actually telling each character's story - one at a time - and turning it in to something real. Is that rebelling against NaNo or just cheating?

We'll see how it goes.

I'm psyched for November... already have my plane tickets to STL and my Nano hoodie on order.
Writing is cool. So wish I had the self-discipline to do this more than one month a year....

NaNoWriMo!

It's November. The noveling madness has begun. When the Pilgrims chose the fourth Thursday of November to celebrate Thanksgiving, they really didn't realize the havoc they would create when it meant that someday I'd have to try to finish my novel in 25 days instead of 30. Here's to a noveling frenzy that puts me so far ahead of my word count goal that I can take a few days off when it's over. :)

I'm not writing anything new.
I'm just playing with previously arranged words and rearranging them some more.
I should be writing new stuff.
I really should.
I thought of a really great beginning to a story the other day while driving. It promptly left
my head. I should have written it down, but I heard that it's frowned upon to write and drive.
I haven't heard stats on it, relative to drinking-and-driving or texting-and-driving, but I'm
sure it's not a good idea. I did have a minor accident this summer while cleaning-up-a-spill-
and-sitting-at-a-red-light. I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm sure I'll have to pay for a
new paint job on her rear fender before she turns in her leased Escape.
